The 2025 Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region
Join us in Geneva this April for a
new edition of the annual Regional Forum!
It is the place where
governments and stakeholders across the UNECE region will gather to advance impactful, inclusive, and
evidence-based policies and solutions for
achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Time for a trip to Geneva? The Regional Forum will be held
in person
(no hybrid modalities) and provide an
opportunity for face-to-face exchange and networking. As other events are taking place in Geneva in
parallel, make sure to
secure your accommodation
as soon as possible if you need one.
The 2025 Regional Forum will be held under the theme:
“Advancing
sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development and its SDGs in the ECE region, leaving no one behind.”

Introducing the In-Focus Goals for 2025
In line with the global SDG review carried out in 2025, the Regional Forum will focus on the following set of
SDGs:
What's on the Agenda?
High-level Policy Segment
High-level speakers will engage in a
policy debate on sustainable, inclusive, science- and
evidence-based solutions
to accelerate SDG progress. The discussion will take stock of recent
progress and future plans of Member States, with an emphasis on the SDGs under in-depth
review. Aspects of inclusion of vulnerable population groups as well as science- and evidence-
based policy-making will be given particular attention.
Peer Learning Roundtables
In these interactive sessions, participants will cover relevant policy issues, highlighting
concrete
solutions and acceleration actions
on the in-focus goals.
Closing Plenary
The plenary session will include a
forward-looking discussion
taking into account recent and
upcoming intergovernmental summits such as the Summit of the Future and its implementation,
the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development and the 2nd World Summit for
Social Development. Speakers will cover interlinked aspects of economic and social inclusion,
sustainable growth, employment, innovation, and sustainable finance.
