Mr Thomas Skriver Jensen
Chairperson of the Employment Committee
The Danish Parliament
D 100825 13.03.2025
Dear Chair,
I would like to kindly inform you that together with a delegation of the Committee on
Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) of the European Parliament, I will participate in a
mission to Denmark from 25 to 27 May 2025. The delegation will be composed of 9-10
Members of the European Parliament, including several Danish Members.
We intend to hold meetings with representatives of the parliament, government, and social
partners as well as to organise a field visit to a company or enterprise with a business profile
connected to the EMPL area of competence and/or using EU funds.
During the talks, we would like to raise such topics as the labour market, social policy and
social dialogue situation in Denmark, the implementation of EU law in the area of
employment and social affairs as well as the use of appropriate EU financing
instruments. The upcoming Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU and the new
legislative cycle will undoubtedly provide an additional context for the discussions.
In light of the above, I would like to kindly request a meeting with you and other Membe rs
of the Employment Committee, if possible, on 27 May 2025 in the morning. My colleagues
from the EMPL Committee and myself will be delighted if you could find the time to discuss
with us these important matters. Bearing in mind the scope of competence of our Committee
we would request a joint meeting also with some Members of the Senior Citizens Committee
and Social Affairs Committee and, if you consider it advisable, the European Affairs
Committee as well. Please let us know if such joint meeting would be possible.
The EMPL Secretariat remains at your disposal for any further information. In this respect,
the contact person for the organization of this visit is Ms Magdalena Klimczak-Nowacka
(magdalena.klimczak@europarl.europa.eu).
Yours sincerely,
Li Andersson
