WB President Commends HM the King's Efforts to Generalize Social
Protection
President of the World Bank (WB), Ajay Banga, commended the efforts of His
Majesty King Mohammed VI to generalize social protection, as well as the
Sovereign's leadership and commitment to promoting the living conditions of
Moroccans.
"I commend the efforts of His Majesty the King to promote social protection in
the Kingdom," said Banga in a statement to the press following the audience
granted by the Sovereign to the president of the World Bank and the managing
director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, on
Friday.
Banga said he was very honored by this Royal audience, expressing his
appreciation of the warm hospitality reserved by Morocco for participants in the
Annual Meetings of the WB Group and the IMF being held from October 9 to 15
in Marrakech.
He took the opportunity to reiterate the World Bank's support for Morocco in this
post-quake period.
HM King Mohammed VI presided over the opening of the first session of the 3rd
legislative year of the 11th Parliament in Rabat on Friday afternoon, during which
the Sovereign delivered a speech to members of both Houses of Parliament, in the
presence of the president of the World Bank and the managing director of the
International Monetary Fund, who are taking part in the WB-IMF Annual
Meetings.
