TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE NATO PA

Dear colleagues,
I am writing to let you know that, after having been asked to join my party’s campaign for the
2024 European Parliament elections, I have received widespread support in the Capital City
of Warsaw and, with a strong result, I have been elected to the European Parliament.
This means that, unfortunately, I cannot continue to serve as the Assembly’s President. As
foreseen in our Rules of Procedure, the Bureau will shortly appoint an Acting President to
fulfil the remainder of my presidential mandate.
As our Rules allow, and in line with the decisions of the Polish
Sejm,
I will remain as the
Head of the Polish delegation to the NATO PA and leader of my political family in the Assem-
bly until 16 July – the day of the oath-taking ceremony in the European Parliament. I will
therefore remain a member of the NATO PA until that date and look forward to participating in
the upcoming visit of our Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council to Ukraine and to the
Parliamentary Summit in Washington, DC.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I have done
my utmost to advocate for, and carry forward, the Assembly’s priorities at what is a pivotal
moment for Euro-Atlantic security. You can rest assured that I will continue to do everything
in my power to support Ukraine and remain a steadfast advocate for the NATO Alliance and
for the Assembly in the European Parliament.

going commitment to our great Assembly.
