the policy measures taken to empower young people in such circumstances.

This capacity-building session will feature presentations from experts and representatives
specializing in protecting and empowering marginalized groups or those in vulnerable
situations. By building knowledge and sharing tips and advice, it will explore:
How to identify vulnerable and marginalized youth groups?
What can help MPs identify the needs of vulnerable youth groups?
Inspire us: Are there examples of good practice in responsive education and
employment policies or initiatives targeting vulnerable youth populations?
Presentations by panellists will be followed by a debate and an exchange of good
practices. Concluding remarks from Ms. Macheso will also introduce the following
session’s working groups exercise.

Session 4: Preserving youth empowerment in times of crisis: What young MPs can
do
Working group sessions
Building on the previous session, participants will break out into working groups to dive
more deeply into specific issues related to youth education and employment in times of
crisis. This will serve to explore concrete actions by young MPs, foster collaboration and
identify policy solutions.

Young parliamentarians will be invited to take the lead of an ‘Unconference’ session, on
the topics of education and employment for young people in times of crisis. This session
will be a free space in the conference agenda where topics are proposed and chosen by
the participants. All parliaments are invited to propose a topic. The young MPs making the
selected proposals will be tasked with facilitating their sessions in working groups. More
information can be found in the Annex.
