Doc. 15628 (Preventing abuse of the right to veto in the Security Council: a perspective
by the member States of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe)
On 16/03/2022, the committee heard a statement by the rapporteur, took note of her
proposal to invite the Presidents of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
and of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for a discussion on this issue to be organised
during the meeting in Chania, Crete (Greece) on 16-17 May 2022, and held an exchange
of views.
On 16/05/2022, the committee heard a statement by the rapporteur and held a hearing
with the participation of Mr Tiny Kox, President of the Parliamentary Assembly, and
Mr Evangelos Venizelos, former Vice President of the Government and former Minister
for Foreign Affairs of Greece.
On 12/09/2023, the committee heard a statement by the rapporteur, considered an
outline report and authorised her to carry out a fact-finding visit to the United Nations
Headquarters in New York and to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund
