Dear Colleagues,
Thank you very much for supporting me on the election as Vice-President of the OSCE PA in
Vancouver.
I feel very honored by the extraordinarily good result and thank you for the trust you have
placed in me. As Vice-President it is very important for me in setting the right priorities for the
future of the Parliamentary Assembly and to actively support the newly elected Bureau.
I´m convinced that the PA must be preserved as a central platform for communicative
exchange across political boundaries. However, this requires reforms that we must tackle
courageously together.
Against the backdrop of Russia's criminal war of aggression against Ukraine, we must defend
our common values and principles even more. This applies to all our political actions. Our
organization needs better funding and more equitable contributions. We also need to expand
our concept of security significantly: gender equality and migration, climate and environmental
protection, the struggle against hunger and poverty, health protection, energy supply and food
security must be given greater consideration in our work.
