Dear Ms Grønlund,
Thank you so much for your quick reply.
We could basically build an agenda together and I'm pleased to detail here the potential framework of this
mission on Women's entrepreneurship.
In the context of the ongoing economic, financial, and social reset, the FEMM Committee considered in
several reports and opinions that women's entrepreneurship presents significant potential for driving
economic growth, innovation, job creation, and contributing to the social, inclusive, and economic
empowerment of women.
However, women entrepreneurs often face significant barriers and challenges that prevent them from
realizing their full potential. These challenges include limited access to funding and investment, lack of access
to networks and mentorship opportunities, and cultural and societal biases that could lead to discrimination
and exclusion.
Despite these challenges, there is growing recognition at the national and international levels of the
importance of women's entrepreneurship. In recent years, the European Parliament has taken several steps
to support women entrepreneurs and address the barriers they face. For example, the FEMM Committee has
recently led initiative reports on "Closing the digital gender gap: women's participation in the digital
economy" and "Reaching women's economic independence through entrepreneurship and self-
employment," both adopted in 2022. The Committee has also played a crucial role in negotiating with the
Council the directive on "Improving the gender balance among directors of companies listed on stock
exchanges" ("Women on boards") adopted in 2022, as well as the directive on "Strengthening the application
of the principle of equal pay for equal work or work of equal value between men and women through pay
transparency and enforcement mechanisms" ("Pay Transparency"), to be approved this month. The members
are also preparing to work on a proposal for a directive on "Standards for equality bodies in the field of equal
treatment and equal opportunities between women and men in matters of employment and occupation and
deleting Article 13 of Directive 2000/43/EC and Article 12 of Directive 2004/113/EC" ("Equality bodies").
Considering Denmark as a role model for gender equality in Europe, the Members of the Business committee
and of the Gender Equality committee in the Folketing might be interested in sharing with the EU delegation
their approach and achievements as law-makers on :
Sharing best practices and successful strategies for supporting women entrepreneurs across Europe.
Developing policies and initiatives to increase funding and investment opportunities for women
entrepreneurs.
Exploring ways to expand women entrepreneurs' access to networks and mentorship opportunities.
Discussing the development of legal, accounting and digital-related skills for women entrepreneurs.
Identifying and addressing cultural and societal biases that lead to discrimination and exclusion of
women entrepreneurs.
Examining the role of education and training programs in promoting women's entrepreneurship.
Encouraging the private sector to take a more active role in supporting women entrepreneurs.
Exploring ways to measure the impact of policies and initiatives to support women entrepreneurs.
These are just some examples of the possible topics that could be discussed during the meeting. The objective
is that by focusing on these issues, the European Parliament and the Danish Folketing members can share on

to better promote and sustain women's entrepreneurship and empower women to achieve their full
potential as entrepreneurs and business leaders.
We remain at your disposal to further elaborate an agenda together as well as on any practical question
related to the organisation of this meeting.
Kind regards,
