Dear president,
It is an honour for us to invite you to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Conference on
Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the EU, which will take place on 26-27
October 2023 in Madrid at the Spanish Senate. As is customary, it will be attended by
representatives from the European Union Member State national parliaments and
individuals from the European Parliament.
This is an important event for the EU Presidency, as it provides a framework for discussion
and information exchange and best practices for enacting the provisions contained in the
Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union to
meet current and future economic challenges. The partnership is particularly relevant in the
context of the governance framework reform. It must take full account of the EU’s pillar of
social objectives to ensure democratic accountability in economic governance and EU
budget policy.
As hosts of this important meeting, it will be an honour for us to welcome you to the Spanish
Senate to continue working in cooperation.
