Application Dates:
Applications for 2020 UIP programme can be made from
02 March – 29 May 2020. Applicants who meet relevant
requirements must deliver their application documents to the
office of religious affairs counsellor or religious affairs attaché
by the end of the business day on Friday, 29 May 2020.
Evaluation and Selection Process:
Subsequent to the preliminary evaluation and planning
by the Presidency, candidates who are found to meet the
requirements, will be invited for an interview.
Candidates will be able to obtain necessary information such
as the date and venue of the test either at the (Duyurular
section) of the www.diyanet.gov.tr web page or from the
offices of religious affairs counsellors or attachés. Face to face
interviews will take place at test centres in the applicants’
home countries.

• Skill of expression using the Turkish language,

Candidates will be able to obtain interview results at the

making an enquiry using their candidate numbers. The results

What
is the International Divinity Program (UIP)?
International Divinity Program is a scholarship program organized
by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, aimed at training persons
who are familiar with local cultures in order to strengthen their
capacities in giving religious services, outside mosque social
services and other teachings in their home countries. The
Programme started in 2006. It provides access to higher religious
education at the level of bachelor’s degree in six different divinity
faculties across Turkey.
Students who have successfully completed their high school
studies in regions such as Europe, America and Australia where
our citizens live, who have become citizens of the countries in
which they live and have a desire to join the Programme shall
be selected to the Programme and placed with various divinity
faculties in Turkey subject to successful interviews and available
number of places.
Students who join the International Divinity Program (UIP) will
follow the current curriculum of the divinity faculties where they
shall be placed. Students who complete the program successfully
will be awarded a bachelor’s degree in Divinity studies.
The list of the faculties where the International Divinity Program
is currently provided are as below:
Ankara University Faculty of Divinity (2006)
Marmara University Faculty of Theology (2007)
Istanbul University Faculty of Theology (2011)
Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Theology (2012)
Uludag University Divinity Faculty (2012)
29 Mayıs University Faculty of International Islamic and Religious
Studies (2012)
Sociocultural Activities:
Summer and winter camps
Social projects
Student club activities
Seminars, cultural and vocational workshops, extra tuitions.
How to apply?
1. Go to UIP application web page directly by clicking on the
internet address below: (https://dibbys.diyanet.gov.tr/IKYS/
Sinav/KurumDisi/DisIliskiler/UIPBasvuru.aspx) This
page can also be reached via the official web page of the
Presidency of Religious Affairs (www.diyanet.gov.tr).
2. Fill the application form and obtain your application number.
3. Upload the following application documents to the online
system:
a. For high school graduates, certified photocopy of the high
school diploma
b. For high school graduates, certified photocopy of
the certificate of equivalence of high school diploma.
(Certificate of equivalence of high school diploma can
be obtained from the offices of education counsellors
or education attachés located at Turkish Embassies and
Consulates).
c. Students who are studying at the final year of high school,
must submit a document or transcript of records showing
that they are final year high school students.
d. Citizens of the relevant countries must submit photocopies
of their ID cards or passports obtained from the countries
in question.
e. Those who are not citizens but permanent residents of
the relevant countries must submit their certificates of
permanent residence.
f. A hand-written biography of the candidate.
g. Contract Document.
h. One (1) biometric photograph taken in the last six (6)
months.
7. Attach the application form printout obtained from the system,
the undertaking document and one biometric photograph
to the abovementioned application-related documents and
deliver them to the nearest office of the religious affairs
counsellor or religious affairs attaché. Your application will be
activated after you handed over the relevant documents.
8. Complete the relevant section of the reference letter you
download from the UIP application web page and take it to the
religious service official of the Religious Affairs in your area.

relating to him and deliver it to the office of
Who can apply?
The applicants to the programme must meet the following
requirements:
1. High school graduates or final year students. (Must complete
secondary education (high school) in a European country
and hold a certificate equivalent to a high school diploma in
Turkey).
2. Citizens of the relevant country*, dual citizens** or permanent
residents.
* Other candidates who live abroad and who are not originally
from Turkey can apply to the programme. Students who are
enrolled to the programme under this category will need
to attend a preparatory Turkish language course for a year.
** Candidates who are not Turkish citizens and those who
ceased being a Turkish citizen in accordance with the law
no 4112 (those who obtained Turkish citizenship by birth
and later ceased their Turkish citizenship by obtaining
appropriate permission from the Council of Ministers in
order to take up citizenship of another country).
3. People who have not turned 25 on or before 01.01.2020. (Those
who were born before 01.01.1995 may not apply.)
4. People who are single (unmarried).
5. Those who were accepted to the programme but were
dismissed subsequently for other reasons or people who were
granted the right but failed to enrol to the programme without
a valid excuse may not apply to the programme again.
6. Applicants must not currently be enrolled on a divinity program
in Turkey.
Important Note:
Turkish citizens, people who hold a High
School diploma issued by the Republic of Turkey Ministry
of Education and people who are Open Learning High
School graduates may not apply to the International Divinity
Programme.
