H.E. Mr. Igor GROSU
President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova
Igor Grosu
(born 30 November 1972) is a Moldovan politician who serves
as the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova since 29 July
2021.
Mr. Grosu has been a member of the Moldovan Parliament since March 2019
and the leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) since May 2022.
Igor Grosu has a degree in History studies. In 2012 he became Deputy
Minister of Education and contributed to the fundamental reform in the
education sector of Moldova.
In 2015-2016, Mr. Grosu joined the PAS party as a founder-member and
became the party's Secretary General. In the 2019 parliamentary elections,
he was elected as member of Parliament.
He also is the co-founder of a few NGOs, such as: Amnesty International
Moldova, National Assistance, the Non-Gov Organizations Information
Center of Moldova CONTACT, Pro-Democracy Association, National Youth
Council of Moldova, and the Analysis and Evaluation Center of Reform.
He ran in 2021 parliamentary elections and on July 29, was voted by 64 MPs
the President of the Moldovan Parliament.
