“Corporate Responsibility for serious human rights abuses in third countrie s ”
on 21 April 2022
Dear Chair,
I am pleased to inform you that the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights
(DROI) and the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) will jointly organise an online inter-
parliamentary meeting (ICM) with National Parliaments on 21 April 2022 on “Corporate
Responsibility for serious human rights abuses in third countries”.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss the Commission’s proposal for a directive on corporate
sustainability due diligence that was adopted on 23 February 2022 and its implications for
Corporate Responsibility for serious human rights abuses in third countries.
The JURI and DROI committees would like to invite Members of National Parliaments to the
Inter-parliamentary Committee Meeting to share their views and experience. We kindly ask
that National Parliaments give a short presentation for 2 minutes on any legislation regarding
due diligence that has been adopted or may be adopted in their jurisdiction.
Practical details regarding the meeting will be forwarded in due course to the services of your
Parliament, responsible for relations with the European Parliament.
I sincerely hope that you will be able to accept this invitation and we are looking forward to
virtually welcoming you to the European Parliament on 21 April 2022.
Yours sincerely,
Adrián Vázquez Lázara
