To whom it may concern,
On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation began full-scale aggression against Ukraine.
Today, the Ukrainian army is repelling belligerent attacks on Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Chernihiv,
Donetsk, Luhansk, Sumy and other regions of the country.
From the very beginning of its insidious
and unjustified invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Federation has been systematically carrying out
military attacks (including airstrikes) on residential housing, civilian buildings, hospitals,
kindergartens, schools, even cultural monuments, religious institutions, and other non-military
civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
Russian armed forces are destroying also objects of Ukrainian critical infrastructure and
power plants, the damage of which can lead to man-made catastrophes on a global scale, giving
the geographical position of Ukraine and the location of such infrastructure. In particular, the
Russians target chemical warehouses and plants, storage facilities for particularly hazardous waste,
nuclear power plants, etc.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, at least 2,000 civilians were killed in
a week of military aggression, including dozens of children. Russia is carrying out a cynical,
merciless aggression not only against Ukraine, but against expats, foreigners, journalists, medics,
volunteers, non-combatants, and all other kind civilians, violating all rules of war, agreed upon by
the civilized world in numerous international treaties and conventions.
Russia refuses to provide evacuation routes for civil population in destroyed cities, blocks
the work of Red Cross and other organizations and ban humanitarian aid from Ukraine, keeping
people in shelters without food, water and electricity for days. A couple of heavily wounded
children died in a shelter just yesterday, as Russian armed forces refused the access of an
ambulance to take them out.
Ukraine has always been a peaceful state, whereas Russian Federation started its aggression
against Ukraine back in 2014. Eight years ago, Russia annexed Ukrainian Crimea and occupied
