On behalf of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF, it is my pleasure to invite you to the

Virtual Global Parliamentary Forum from 6 to 8 and 11 October,
jointly organised with the World Bank Group and the
International Monetary Fund.

Building back stronger, fairer and greener
.
As the world continues to battle COVID-19, the risks of aftershocks that plunge millions into poverty also
continue to grow and exacerbate inequalities. The global community has moved quickly to confront the COVID
catastrophe. Nevertheless, the numbers of those living in extreme poverty rose for the first time this century by
around 100 million more people.
During the Forum, parliamentarians will have the opportunity to share experiences and best practices with
senior management experts from the World Bank Group & IMF, notably IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva
and World Bank Group President David Malpass on how to build back better stronger, fairer and greener. Legislators
ill also e a le to hear fro IFI’s represe tati es o the i stitutio s’ ost re e t efforts to a elerate re o ery,
such as the IMF $650 billion in Special Drawing Rights allocation and the early IDA20 replenishment. Spanned over
four days, several virtual sessions will provide a platform to discuss public policies with a special emphasis on global
health priorities, the environment, and the role of the private sector in building back better and more inclusively.
