A Virtual Journey into the Sahel: Delivering results together, June 17, 2021
On behalf of the World Bank Group, I am pleased to invite you to a virtual meeting on the occasion of the
launch of the Virtual Journey into the Sahel on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 9:00-10:30 AM Washington
(EST) and 3:00 PM
4:30 PM Paris (GMT+2).
This event will serve as a platform for unveiling a virtual reality field visit in the Sahel, an immersive mission
into the region that will allow visitors to witness International Development Association (IDA) projects on
the ground. The live virtual meeting will engage legislators and key partners from around the world in
discussions with World Bank regional leadership, country staff, IMF experts, and various stakeholders from
the Sahel on the challenges and successful strategies in achieving results for a region touched by fragility,
conflict and violence in the midst of a pandemic. It will be a special opportunity to deepen understanding
of the development process, including the importance of stakeholder engagement, from experts in the
field and local representatives and officials.
We will share the detailed program in due time. Simultaneous interpretation will be offered in English and
French.
Please register at the following
