17 February 2021, 8:30-9:30 Washington D.C. (EST)|14:30-15:30 Paris (GMT+2)
Dear Honourable,
On behalf of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF, it is my pleasure to invite you to the
Virtual
Parliamentary Briefing on Supporting Countries in Delivering the COVID-19 Vaccine
taking place on
17 February 2021
at 8:30-9:30 Washington D.C. Time|14:30-15:30 Paris Time,
jointly organised with the World Bank Group.
The COVID-19 pandemic is ravaging public health, societies, and economies in countries across the globe,
reversing decades of progress in poverty reduction. Issuing vaccines on such an unprecedented global scale and
ensuring that they reach those who need them most poses a huge challenge, especially for developing countries with
limited health systems and infrastructure. Legislators remain key actors in the dispersal of vaccines by overseeing their

governance and equal access for those in need;
passing legislation to promote necessary infrastructure and systems; and keeping an open line of communication with
their constituencies to promote awareness and maintain public confidence.
The event will convene a roundtable of legislators, including the Board of the Parliamentary Network on the
World Bank and IMF (PN) and key parliamentary partners, with World Bank Group senior management and health
experts to discuss partnering to ensure fast and fair delivery of vaccines to people in all countries, and strengthening
systems to implement large scale immunizations. The briefing will highlight in particular best practices and policies
parliamentarians can adopt in their countries to ensure efficient, transparent, and equitable access to vaccines.
The agenda of the meeting and the connection details will follow. Sessions will be held in English, Spanish
and French. Kindly confirm your presence by filling out the following registration
