Invitation to the Global Parliamentary Workshop at the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings, 5-6 April
2021
Dear Honourable,
On behalf of the Parliamentary Network and the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, it is my
pleasure to invite you to the
2021 Global Parliamentary Workshop from 5 to 6 April, 2021.
The theme of
this year’s
meeting is
Fro the Pa de ic to the Paris Agree e t: Ho to a oid a great di erge ce.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created social and economic hardship across the world. Despite extraordinary
policy measures, the effects of the virus have amplified pre-existing inequalities, disproportionately affecting
the young, the poor, and women. The risk of an uneven recovery is high unless we use targeted, sector-
specific measures, while taking climate action and managing debt.
In this context, we want to create a space
to hear from parliaments about their role in the immediate and long-term recovery efforts, including policy
measures that work and others which are to be implemented.
The workshop will be an occasion for parliamentarians to share experiences and best practices with senior
management and experts from the World Bank Group and IMF about how they are addressing virus
containment and the global reset to long-term sustainability and debt management.
The connection details will follow. The International Secretariat of the Parliamentary Network will prepare
the event programme and send it to you in due time. Sessions will be held in English, French, Arabic and
Spanish. I invite you to confirm your attendance by clicking on the following
link
(https://form.jotform.com/PNOWB/GlobalParliamentaryWorkshop) and filling out the online registration
form. For further information, please contact

With my very best wishes,
