Contribution concerning the Commission’s
proposal on a Single Market for Digital
Services (COM(2o2o)825)
The Danish Parliament (Folketinget) has assesed the Commission’s proposal
for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a Single
Market for Digital Services and studied whether it adheres to the Principle of
Subsidiarity.
It is the assessment of the Folketing that the proposals do flot breach the
Principle of Subsidiarity.
A majority in the Folketing representing the Social Democratic Party, the Lib
eral Party of Denmark and the Unity List, consider it important that the per-
sons charged with processing and making decisions in cases of complaint
and extrajudicial disputes also possess adequate competences and
knowledge, including an awareness of the national and European context
pertinent to the case in question. For exam pie, there may be significant cul-
tural disparities between the countries with regard to what is considered “of
fensive”.
