To,
The Immigration and Integration
Committee, Denmark
Date: 2 July 2020.
Subject:
Granting Permanent Residence (PR) status to all the remaining Green Card Visa holders
residing and working full time in Denmark by excluding compulsory language
requirements.
This is to request the Committee to grant PR status for all the remaining Green Card Visa
holders residing and working full time in Denmark as of 31st July 2020 excluding compulsory
language requirements. As there are very few Green Card visa holders left in Denmark and then
permenently close the GreenCard Chapter in Denmark. This will be a one time Decision only for
Green Card Holders.
Key points why PR status to the Green Card Visa holders is WinWin approach
.
Education
: As the Green Card scheme was based on the education qualification, hence all the
green cards visa holders are well educated and have one and another special expertise in
different faculties and areas. This education and expertise can potentially benefit the country in
the long term. Granting PR to this group may motivate them to utilize their education and
expertise at different levels in a more effective way.
Full time work
: All the GC visa holders are working full time and paying required tax to the
government from the very first day of work. Granting PR to this group may motivate them to be
more hardworking and loyal towards the system.
Help to the labour market and Generate Employment
: Most of the GC holders have good
working expertise and experience back from their home country under such situations if
provided PR they might get an opportunity to start their own business and by this way they can
positively contribute to the danish labour market.
Economic benefit:
Working full time to support family and start business will definitely help little
in the country's economic side.
New creative and productive concept
: At present all the Green Card visa holders are bound
to work full time to meet the extension requirement, if granted PR most of them are motivated
and ready to start their own business. There is a great chance for Denmark to get the new and
creative business concept and product from different parts of the world.
UUI, Alm.del - 2019-20 - Bilag 149: Henvendelse af 3/7-20 fra Lukendranath Gautam vedr. Granting Permanent Residence (PR) status to all the remaining Green Card Visa holders residing and working full time in Denmark by excluding compulsory language requirements.
No economic burden to the country
: As all the GC holders have good education and working
experience and all are working full time here and there so there is zero chances of economic
burden to the country.
Wanting to settle down in Denmark with family:
it's a very simple and clear logic person with
good education and family came to Denmark in the middle of his/her career with a great hope to
settle down and contribute his/her knowledge in Denmark.
Familiar with Danish society and culture
: All the GC visa holders and their spouse are
working full time and kids are going to the public school. There is no doubt that they are now
familiar and used to the danish sysment, society, culture and language.
Current similar practice in Country
: If we talk about the current similar practice, we can say
all the immigrants from European Union who come to denmark get PR after continuous stay in
denmark for five years, they don't have to show the work, education, language and on the top
they also avail all the facilities and social benefits provided by the Danish Govt. On the other
hand GC holders also have education, full time work, not avail any social benefit, paying regular
tax, kids are going to school and many more positive points.
Other than above listed points there are so many positive benefits and contributions to Danish
Society by the Green Card Visa holders. Danish Government is very much aware, familiar and
agreed that Granting PR status to all the remaining Green Card Visa holders only has a positive
impact. This One time decision will be proven as Win Win solutions for the Green Card Visa
holders to come out freely into the Danish Society without mental pressure of meeting work,
income and many other conditions.
Language is a very important part of our daily life, it's not limited to Green Card Visa holders, in
Denmark the person who wants to make much more progress and development in his career
has to learn, understand and be creative in Danish language no matter who and where he/she
is from. On the other hand language should not be a compulsory requirement for the person
with good education, paying regular tax, wanting to settle down with family and who spend more
than 6/7 years of his quality life in Denmark. Special Conditional provision about requirements
of the Danish Language should be made if someone wants to avail the SocialBenefits.
Proposal
Request to the Committee, Danish Government, Parliament and the Political Parties to
exclude the language requirement for Green Card Visa holders residing and working full
time in Denmark as of 31-July-2020 and Grant Permanent Residence(PR) status by
making one time decision.
Denmark is a Great Country to Live and Dream in.
Thank you,
Lukendranath Gautam
