On behalf of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF, it is my pleasure to invite you to the
2020
Virtual Global Parliamentary Forum from 12 to 15 October,
jointly organised with the World Bank Group and the
International Monetary Fund.

forum is
Achieving a Green and Inclusive Recovery Post
COVID-19
.
Parliaments have been at the forefront of this unprecedent global challenge, being called upon to pass
exceptional laws, supplementary budgets and grant special powers to their governments to cope with this major
disaster, while considering how to deal with the current development challenges of their countries during and after
the pandemic.
During the Forum, parliamentarians will have the opportunity to share experiences and best practices with
senior management and experts from the World Bank Group & IMF, notably IMF Managing Director Kristalina
Georgieva and World Bank Group President David Malpass, on how to address the complex and unprecedented
socioeconomic challenges facing their constituencies and the world, and how to work together in building back
better. The four virtual sessions spanned over 4 days will provide a platform to discuss public policies to achieve a
green and inclusive recovery post COVID-19, putting a special emphasis on the environment, private and investment
sector reform, and female political leadership for boosting gender equality through a special session with Women
Speakers of Parliament.
