THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF BELARUS
THE COUNCIL OF REPUBLIC
THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Minsk, 20 August 2020
Your Excellency,
The presidential elections were held in Belarus on August 9, 2020. As a result, Aleksander
Lukashenko was re-elected Belarusian president. The election was held in line with the
Belarusian Constitution and legislation.
The majority of citizens supported the current policy aimed at building a strong independent
state, the key priorities of which are people and their prosperity and safety.
Some Euro-Atlantic officials rushed to make political statements and conclusions important
for Belarus, with some of them bordering on the interference with the country's domestic
affairs, which is unacceptable and contradicts the universally accepted principles and norms
of the international law.
It is important to look into the current situation in Belarus in an objective and calm manners.
We are ready for a constructive dialogue on this topic and the presentation of concrete
irrefutable facts that reveal the background of the current events, including about
interference from abroad.
Your Excellency, we urge you to help shape an objective, professional, and responsible
stance of your country regarding the situation in Belarus.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of our highest consideration.
