Committee on Legal Affairs
The Chair
To the Chairperson(s) of the Committee(s) concerned
Subject:
Invitation to Inter-parliamentary Committee meeting on
“Better
Law Making from
a digital perspective”, Brussels, 27 October 2020, 13.45
15.45 (Brussels time zone)
Honourable Chairperson,
I am pleased to inform you that the European Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI)
will organize an Inter-parliamentary committee meeting with National Parliaments on 27 October
2020 in Brussels on
“Better Law Making from a digital perspective”.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss the role that digitization plays in the legislative process and
how to ensure that new legislation is in accordance with modern requirements.
The JURI Committee would like to invite Members of National Parliaments to the Inter-
parliamentary Committee Meeting to share their views and experience while giving a positive
and essential contribution in the discussion.
Due to the restrictions taken by European Parliament to prevent the spread of the COVID-19
pandemic, the meeting will take place on Tuesday 27 October, from 13h45 to 15h45 (Brussels
time zone), by remote participation via online meeting tool (please see the draft program
attached).
I am therefore pleased to invite up to four Members of the relevant committee(s) from each
National Parliament (two from each Chamber in the case of bi-cameral Parliaments) to attend
this meeting.
Practical details regarding the meeting will be forwarded in due course to the services of your
Parliament, responsible for relations with the European Parliament.
