In the framework provided by Article 51 of the Regulation
(EU)
2016/794 on Europol, we are
pleased to invite you to the
6
th
Meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group (JPSG) on
the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol),
which will take
place on
22 - 23 March 2020 in Zagreb, Croatia.
The Meeting will have on its agenda a number of specific issues directly arising from the JPSG
prerogatives according to Article 51 of the Europol Regulation, including a presentation by
Catherine DE BOLLE, Executive Director of Europol. Keynote interventions will be delivered by
Ylva JOHANSSON, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, and Davor
BO�½INOVIĆ,
Deputy Prime
Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, focusing
on the future EU Internal Security Strategy and the future role of Europol. The thematic debate is
dedicated to innovation and research at Europol.
Please find attached the draft programme of the Meeting as agreed with the Presidential Troika.
Written questions
According to Article 4.2 of the JPSG Rules of Procedure, we kindly draw your attention to the right
to address oral and written questions to Europol. Please find attached the Guide for Members on
JPSG Written and Oral Questions, as agreed by the Co-Chairs, explaining the procedure of
submitting questions.
In line with the Guide, we would like to ask you to
submit your written questions
to the JPSG
Secretariat by
4 February 2020 at the latest.
Documents by delegations
If delegations wish to send us their documents relating to any item on the agenda in line with Article
4.6.2 of the JPSG Rules of Procedure, we invite them to do so
by 21 February 2020 at the latest.

General aspects
According to Article 4.3 of the JPSG Rules of Procedure, the working languages of the JPSG are
English and French, therefore we would like to ask the delegations to submit all written questions
and documents in one of these two languages. The e-mail addresses are the following:

All documents submitted by Europol for the Meeting in line with Article 51.3 of the Europol
Regulation, as well as all written questions, received replies, documents submitted by the
delegations to the JPSG and other relevant documents will be published on the
IPEX JPSG website
ahead of the Meeting.
In addition, please find attached Practical Information for the Meeting. Further practical details
will be forwarded in due course to your Parliament's services and published on
IPEX JPSG website
and the
Croatian Parliament’s
presidency website.
