DEAR COLLEAGUE,
With this letter, I would like to share with you my deep conviction that the fight against '
the illegal traffic of artefacts, against counterfeit works of art and fake news can be successful
only through the combined efforts of the European countries.
As a Chairperson of the Committee on Culture and the Media at the National Assembly
of the Republic of Bulgaria, I am ready to initiate a European discussion of the EU member
states parliamentary committees on improving the legal basis for the protection and
digitalization of cultural heritage, the fight against counterfeit works of art and fake news, the
host of which will be the city of Sofia.
I propose this significant forum to take place on 21 May 2020 as for this purpose the
National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria shall provide a conference hall and the
accompanying cultural programme on the day of its holding. The working language of the
meeting shall be English. We expect the format of your participation to be 1

during my meetings in 2019 at the Committee on Culture and the Media at the German
Bundestag, at the Committee on Culture, Science and Education at the House of Deputies in
Rome, at the Committee on Cultural Affairs and Education at the National Assembly of the
French Republic, and at the Committee of Culture at the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech
Parliament.
