I am writing to you as the new Danish Minister of Immigration and Integration,
representing the Social Democratic Government that came into power on 27 June
2019.
I am pleased to inform you that in the political understanding of the new Danish
Government

June 2019 it is stated that the reception of refugees for resettlement under the
Danish resettlement quota with a special focus on women and children can be
resumed in 2020, and that the government in 2019 will receive a smaller group of
resettled refugees who
–
due to critical illnesses
–
requires immediate treatment.
In this respect, my Ministry will revert to UNHCR to discuss further practical de-
tails.
The Danish Government highly appreciates the long-standing and constructive
relationship between Denmark and the UNHCR
–
not least with regard to reset-
tlement
–
and I look forward to our future cooperation.
