Dear Colleague,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the Meeting of the Chairpersons of the
Environment Committees or respective Committees responsible for climate
change issues, which will be held in Helsinki as part of the Finnish Presidency of
the Council of the European Union.
The meeting will take place on Monday, 7 October 2019 at the Eduskunta, pre-
ceded by a welcome dinner on the evening of Sunday, 6 October 2019.
I am convinced that your participation in this event will significantly contribute
to the discussions within the European Union on the sufficiently ambitious targets
for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and 2050 given the importance of
the IPCC’s
so-called 1.5 C degrees report, and the role of the finance world in mak-
ing the aims concrete in practice.
Please find attached the draft programme of the meeting and the practical infor-
mation. The registration process for the hotels along with other relevant details
are explained in the practical information. Please kindly take note of the registra-
tion deadlines.
