What to do?
Police informed the Public Order & Safety department of the
municipality of Amsterdam
A Taskforce was formed using the RIEC-platform
Relevant RIEC-partners looked into their systems: Who lives in this
house and who is registered there? How many people live there?
Who owns the house? Are there any complaints from the
neighbourhood? What is the criminal background of the tenants.
The Taskforce made a plan of action to enter and make an
inspection of the house

Dept. of Housing possesses legal grounds to enter and inspect a
house or building.
Housing Law and an authorisation to enter of the Mayor
On 2nd of December 2016 City employees entered the house with
the police

On the 12th of September 2016 a massive fight took place in Café
Nasty
Police took the security camera footage
Group of men walked from Rembrandtsplein to Thorbeckeplein to
Café Nasty
Entrance was denied by the doormen
Group of men hit the doormen and go inside
Bar stools and glasses were being thrown in the cafe, visitors run
outside

Area bans in Amsterdam
Four men got a area ban for Rembrandtplein, Thorbeckeplein and
Leidseplein for a duration of three months
In January 2017 two area bans were extended for another three
months because of a fight in Bells Club Amstelveen
