I. PRESENTATION OF THE UNION
NAME
: Union of Deaf Associations of Bobo-Dioulasso
CREATION DATE AND RECOGNITION: The UASB
as been created and officially
recognized on February 26, 2016 under the receipt cited above.
THE MEMBERS:
The UASB brings together the members of the Association of Deaf
Conscious of Burkina Faso (ASCF), the association of Young Deaf Girls for Development
(AJFS / D) and the Association of Deaf Muslims of Bobo-Dioulasso (ASMB).
OBJECTIVES:
The UASB pursues the following objectives:
- Work for the fulfillment of its members;
- Support deaf children or deaf parents;
- Promote literacy and employment of the deaf;
- Promote the social integration of the deaf
ACTIVITIES
CARRIED OUT:
- Awareness of the social classes on deafness
- Family and social integration activities of the deaf
- Community activities ;
- Cultural and sports activities;
- Activities of Community interest;
- Contacts with some companies to place deaf people for training or employment
PARTNERS:
The UASB collaborates with:
- social action services;
- Associations of disabled people;
- Resource persons.
DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED:
These difficulties are:
- the professional integration of the deaf;
- The search for project financing;
- Failure to take into account the real needs of the deaf by the state or the private sector.
PROJECTS
: The UASB would like to:
- Organize literacy classes for its members;
- Open vocational training workshops;
- Develop income generating activities;
- Orient some deaf people in agriculture and

TITLE OT THE PROJECT
Schooling project for deaf children or deaf parents
III. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
A. General Objective
This project aims to promote the schooling of deaf children or deaf parents in order to guarantee
them a good education for their development and a full integration into normal working life.
B. Specific objectives
Identify deaf children and children of deaf parents;
Identify host institutions;
Ensure the schooling of his children;
Provide for their needs for food, care, health, clothing and school supplies;
Ensure regular monitoring of the project.
IV.
THE BENEFICIARIES OF THE PROJECT
The project will be carried out for at least 120 deaf children or deaf parents.
V. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION OF THE PROJECT
A. Project execution place
The project will be carried out in the municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso, where many deaf children
and deaf parents reside.
B. Justification of the Project
In Bobo-Dioulasso commune, there are many deaf children or deaf parents who are out of school
due to parental poverty and high school fees. This is how these children live the wrong fate of
disability, illiteracy, misery and all forms of social discrimination.
It is in view of this sad situation that the UASB initiated this project in order to promote the
schooling of these children in difficulty and to guarantee to them their rights and a full social
integration.

A. Activities of the project
Identify children to school;
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Develop contacts with schools to educate children;
Ensure the payment of school fees, care, health, catering and children's clothing.
Ensure regular monitoring in the institutions and families of children.

VII. PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING
Project management and monitoring will be provided by a committee composed of:
- The president of the UASB, legal representative of the project;
- The coordinator in charge of the general supervision of the project;
- The UASB treasurer responsible for project management;
- A facilitator in charge of monitoring the project
- Two parents of students in charge of monitoring the project
This committee will ensure the proper execution of the project and send a quarterly report to the
partners. An evaluation will be done at the end of the school year by the committee and sent to
the partners.
VIII. EXPECTED RESULTS
No one doubts the importance of education, which is the basis of the development of every
being and every nation. So, through this project, 120 children in difficulty will benefit from a
good education, will perform well and will all go to higher classes. These children will experience
a normal harmonious life and their parents will be very relieved because these children, who
were a heavy burden for them, will find themselves fulfilled and cared for.
