Invitation
Global Parliamentary Conference (GPC), Washington D.C., 16-17 April 2018
Dear Mr. Hækkerup,
It is my honour and pleasure to extend to you an invitation for the Global Parliamentary Conference (GPC) of the Parliamentary
Network on the World Bank & International Monetary Fund (IMF), organised jointly with the World Bank Group and IMF from
16-17 April 2018 in Washington D.C.
The GPC is the Networks flagship event and a yearly milestone on the international development events calendar. It is the only
parliamentary conference where parliamentarians engage directly the World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim and IMF
Managing Director Mme Christine Lagarde. As such, the Conference contributes to strengthening the impact of parliamentarians
in shaping development policies on a global scale.
This year, a half-day Parliamentary Summit on Policies to Support Youth Job Creation will be organized on April 17, 2018 in the
framework of the Global Parliamentary Conference. The Summit is co-organized with Peace Child International and International
Youth Foundation. It will explore the possibility of creating a Global Fund for Youth Employment (GFYE) and propose concrete
legislations from MPs in their respective countries and at the global level to support youth job creation which can be promoted
by the members of the Parliamentary Network amongst their fellow MPs and their governments. Participants will draft a
resolution and action plan from the Summit. Keynote speakers will include youth leaders and job creation experts from various
government agencies and non-governmental organizations and private sector representatives involved in the field.
Furthermore, as a participant of the GPC we will also register you to attend the 2018 Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World
Bank Group
a set of seminars, regional briefings, and other events focused on the global economy, international development,
and the world's financial system. Please note that registration to the Spring Meetings is subject to the approval of your country’s
IMF/World Bank Executive Director.
We hope that you will be able to attend the conference in person or that you can send a representative. Note that we can host
up to 3 representatives per country. The official languages of the conference will be English and French.
I invite you to complete the online registration form by clicking on the following website:

The deadline for completed registration is 20 M

2018 at the latest.
