PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF TURKEY
On the Upcoming Early Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in Turkey

Thank you, Mr. Chairperson,
I am pleased to inform the Permanent Council that early Presidential and Parliamentary
Elections will be held in Turkey on Sunday, 24 June 2018. If necessary, a possible second
round of the Presidential Election will take place two weeks later, on 8 July 2018.
Pursuant to its relevant commitments under the 1990 Copenhagen Document and the 1999
Istanbul Document, the Government of the Republic of Turkey invites the OSCE Office for
Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as
OSCE participating States who may wish to do so, to observe the election proceedings.
