“THE ROLE OF PARLIAMENTS IN SHAPING THE FUTURE OF FOOD

AND FARMING“

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Date/ topic/ venue of the Conference

The Conference opens on 22 November 2018 with official opening and Plenary Session in the

Croatian Parliament. Plenary Session is divided into four Sessions. Session 1

–

The Process of

Adoption of National Strategic Plans; Session 2

–

Generational Renewal; Session 3

–

Local

Community and Rural Development and Session 4

–

Research in Agriculture, Safety and

Quality of Food. All Sessions are related to the new legislation framework of the Common

Agricultural Policy. Second day of the Conference plans to present the summaries from the

Sessions presented by the rapporteurs and discussion among national Parliaments and the

European Parliament as well as representatives of the professional associations on the future

of the Common Agricultural Policy. Closing part of the Conference plans topics for further

discussions among national Parliaments on the new legislation framework of the Common

Agricultural Policy.

Registration and Accreditation of Conference Participants

Registration desks will be in your hotel in Zagreb. You are kindly asked to register upon

arrival into your hotel in Zagreb in order to participate at the Conference. The access to all

documents will be via Conference web page and some printed documents will be distributed

to you upon accreditation. Participants arriving on 23 November 2018 can register directly in

the Croatian Parliament.

For security reasons, all participants are requested to wear their badges visibly at all times.

All participants must cover their own travel costs to and from Zagreb. Participants will also be

responsible for arranging their own transportation to the International Hotel upon their arrival

By Airport Shuttle

The scheduled airport shuttle "Pleso prijevoz" is operating between the Airport and the

Zagreb Central Bus Terminal. One-way ticket costs 30 HRK

/ € 4.

By Taxi

The taxi stand for arriving passengers at the Passenger Terminal is located in the vicinity of

the Ground Floor, Arrivals level of the Terminal. The price for a taxi ride from the airport to

the centre of Zagreb

is about 300 HRK / € 40.

Accommodation

Hotel rooms have been reserved for Conference participants in the International Hotel in the

centre of Zagreb. Location of the hotel can be found on the Conference web page. Participants

who wish to stay longer in Croatia should organize their own accommodation and transfers

not covered within the Conference activities.

Composition of Delegation

National parliaments delegations should be composed of no more than 4 persons (staff

included) and their accommodation costs for two night are covered by the organizer;

Delegations of other institutions and professional organizations should be composed

of no more than 3 persons and their accommodation costs for two night are covered by

the organizer;

Accommodation, organization, local transfer and other Conference activities costs have been

cofinanced from the Technical assistance Croatia's Rural Development Programme for 2014-

2020.

Conference will be covered by media representatives.

Additional interpretation booths will be available

on first come, first served basis. Delegations

should provide their own interpreters. If you need

an additional interpretation booth, please contact

All Conference documents will be available at the

Conference web page and in the Parliament Hall.

Heads of national delegations and institutions are

invited to take the floor for no longer than 2

minutes at the opening part of the Plenary

Session.

Requests to take the floor should be submitted by

October, 15 2018 via on-line form. Heads of

national delegations will be allowed to take the

floor on a first come first served basis.

Participants wishing to take part in the Plenary

Sessions discussion are invited to contact the

Conference Secretariat with the form to be found

with the printed documents distributed to you

upon accreditation.

On the second day of the Conference participants

wishing to take part in the Plenary Sessions

discussion are invited to contact the Conference

Secretariat with the form to be found with the

printed documents distributed to you upon

accreditation.

Participants wishing to participate in the closing

part of the Conference on topics for further

discussions among national Parliaments on the

new legislation framework of the Common

Agricultural Policy are invited to submit their

proposals and explanations via an on-line form by

15 October 2018. The proposal must be delivered

in English. The floor shall be given to members

of delegations in order in which the floor has

been requested for no longer than 2 minutes.
