August 26
th
to September 2
nd
2018
The purpose of the Cultural Affairs Committee's visit to Japan is to follow up on the anniversary year 2017. The 150
year for diplomatic relations between Denmark and Japan was celebrated on various areas, including culture. The
cultural ties between the two countries are traditionally strong, especially within architecture, design, handicraft and art.
However, Japan possesses also many new cultural trends among music and literature. The committee will gain insights as
to how architecture, art and nature can contribute to regional development outside of the big cities.
