Jeg har talt med Karina Lindvig fra Mærsk

igen. Nye oplysninger er indsat med sort.

Claus Hemmingsen har været til møde med Eva Kjer den 21. januar 2016 (Kilde: Danmarks Rederiforening – og det

er bekræftet af Claus’ sekretariat). I Captia har jeg fundet sag 001-14027, der i coveret bekræfter, at ministeren

skulle havde møde med DR, hvor Claus W. Hemmingsen, adm. firektør Anne Steffensen og underdirektør Maria

Bruun Skipper skulle deltage. Danmarks Rederiforening havde også overfor Mærsk oplyst, at Claus H havde deltaget

i et møde med ministeren den 10. marts – men det afkræftede Claus’ sekretariat. Om der har været flere møder

bagud i tiden, har rederiforeningen ikke oplyst.

Mærsk har ikke en liste med skibe, som de ved skal hugges op – de har ikke et ophugningsprogram. Og de har ikke

på noget tidspunkt meldt ud, hvor mange skibe de skal have skrottet. Antallet kommer an på flere ting, bl.a.

stålprisen, markedskapaciteten, hvordan går verdenshandelen m.m.

Mærsk vil forsøge at finde ud af, hvor Mærsk Georgia og Mærsk Wyoming sejlede, da det blev besluttet, at de skulle

skrottes:

Ingen af skibene har sejlet i EU farvand på det tidspunkt, hvor beslutningen om ophugning blev taget.

De 30 mærsk-ejede skibe, der er ophugget siden 2009, er ophugget her: Kina (24), Belgien (1), Tyrkiet (2), Indien (2) ,

UK (1) – Mærsks optælling siger 30.

Mærsk vil forsøge at finde ud af mere information om Starflotte til brug for afdækning af, om transportforordningen

blev overtrådt af den tysle ejer. Mærsk oplyste at 7 af skibene sejlede under Liberia flag 7 under UK (ikke at det har

nogen betydning i forhold til transportforordningen).

Skibene blev leveret tilbage i perioden dec 2013 til feb 2014 og herefter har Mærsk ingen information om, hvad der

er sket med dem.

Karina har udarbejdet en liste med hvilke flag Mærsks skibe sejler under, den er pt til godkendelse hos Anders.

Mærsk ejer pt 470 skibe.

40% er indregistreret i DK

40% er indregistreret i Singapore og Hong Kong

De resterende 20% er fordelt på en række andre lande, hvor hovedparten er USA, Canada og EU-medlemsstater (8

Undertegnede ringede til Natalia Lykova (NL) for at få flere oplysninger om ophugningen af skibet ”Mærsk Batler”.

Herunder hvorfor det blev besluttet, at skibet skulle hugges op, og hvornår beslutningen blev truffet.

NL oplyste, at Mærsk Supply er i gang en tilpasning af flåden, at der løbende vurderes på de enkelte fartøjer i fht om

de kan sælges, sejle videre eller skal hugges op.

NL oplyste, at det først meget sent blev besluttet, at det var ”Batler”, der skulle bugsere de 2 andre supply-skibe,

som sank på turen til Tyrkiet.

NL oplyste, at beslutningen om ophugning af ”Batler” blev truffet d. 21. december 2016.

NL havde ikke mere specifik viden, og vil bede sin chef Niels Hansen om at kontakte mig mhp en drøftelse af sagen.

Following up on our conversation Friday afternoon and the questions raised.

First approach to the recycling yard in Turkey to discuss possible recycling of Maersk Battler was made on Monday

December 2016.

The noon position of the vessel on 19

December was 50.32,3n – 000.01,2e. The vessel left Fredericia 12

December 11:30hrs.

The decision to recycle the vessel was taken after considering potential future employment after completion of the

tow of Maersk Searcher and Maersk Shipper as well as potential sale to other owners for continued trading.

Please find below a statement from Maersk Supply Service on the questions you have raised, the response is in blue.

The Danish EPA has become aware through Ritzau, that the now sunken ships were towed by a third ship “Mærsk

Battler”. According to Ritzau the third ship Mærsk Battler was also intended for scrapping in Turkey.

In connection with the processing of your application for export of the two ships "M/V MÆRSK SHIPPER" and "M/V

MÆRSK SEARCHER", you informed us that one of the two ships was towing the other. No other ships were to be

involved according to your application.

It is was the intention to tow both vessels which we have presented during the initial meeting. At that point it was

not clear which vessel will be nominated for the job that we have also discussed.

Also, the “MÆRSK BATTLER” was not part of your application for export and therefore you did not have any

permission from our side to export “MÆRSK BATTLER” to Turkey.

Maersk Battler was not part of the application because the vessel was in operation, the decision for recycling was

taken on December 21, 2016, while the vessel was located in the international waters and was on assignment to

perform the tow job. For this reason, the vessel was not exported from Denmark and, in our understanding, the

Waste Shipment Regulation did therefore not apply. If the decision had been taken earlier, we would naturally had

included Maersk Battler in the application.

Finally you informed us, that there would be no transit countries involved in the transport of the ships, as they only

where to sail in international waters. Yet the two ships sank in French coastal waters.

The two vessels sunk around 60 miles off the coast of France, which is outside of territorial waters. Hence, it was not

relevant to apply for approval by the French authorities.
