Global Parliamentary Conference (GPC), Washington D.C., 17-18 April 2017
Dear Honorable Speaker,
It is my honour and pleasure to extend to you an invitation for the Global Parliamentary Conference of the
Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & International Monetary Fund (IMF), organised jointly with the World
Bank Group and IMF from 17-18 April 2016 in Washington D.C.

some 200 members of
parliament from World Bank and IMF member countries, partner parliamentary organizations, as well as the
leadership from the World Bank and IMF.
As a member of the Parliamentary Network delegation, we will also register you to attend the 2017 Spring
Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group - pending the approval of your country Executive Director.
This year’s age da fo uses o :
(i) Fostering economic growth through job creation; (ii) Developing strong climate
and energy policies; (iii) Tackling corruption and improving governance ; (iv) Investing in human capital with a focus
on early childhood development; (v) Dealing with the economic and social pressures brought on by migration; (vi)
Facilitating skills development and social integration.
We hope that you will be able to attend the conference in person, accompanied by one of your colleagues with an
expertise in development economics. If you cannot attend the Conference, we would be happy to welcome two
appointed representatives. Note that we can host up to 3 representatives per country. The official languages of the
conference will be English and French.
