What are the latest mega-trends in the transport sector and how will
they affect our society and the labour market of transport in the future? Join
the FICT 2017 conference to hear politicians and leading industry representatives
debate these topics and more.
The FICT conference (Fédération Internationale des Cadres des Transports) aims to
look into the future to create jobs and growth in the European Union with a gener-
al focus on transport including maritime, air, railway, and road.
FICT sees a range of innovative technologies emerging. The technologies are push-
ing through autonomous vehicles of all kinds, especially ships and cars (trucks).
In the wake of Uber-ization – and Ryan Air – what will the labour market of future
transport look like with these new forces entering?
The future of transport
We are offshoring our transport work. At the same time manufacturing companies
are home-shoring their production from China due to the beneits delivered by
high degrees of automation and digitization.
Will the same cycle hit transport in the coming years, and who will be the winners
and losers?
