6.2. Road
The Danish Road Traffic Agency is responsible for constructing, operating and
maintaining the State road network. The Agency has informed the Ministry of
Transport and Building that the Agency does not possess any data on possible
delays to north-bound road traffic from the German border resulting from border
controls.
The Danish Transport and Construction Agency acts as adviser to the Ministry of
Transport and Building on transport policy and the strategic development of the
transport sector. The Ministry of Transport and Building has not received reports
of delays to commercial bus traffic between Germany and Denmark from the Dan-
ish Transport and Construction Agency.
6.3. Ferry
Danske Færger A/S operates the Sassnitz-Rønne ferry line between Germany and
the island of Bornholm and has informed the Ministry of Transport and Building
that there have been no delays resulting from border controls.
Scandlines operates the Rødby-Puttgarden and Gedser-Rostock ferry lines
between Germany and the islands Lolland and Gedser. Scandlines has informed
the Ministry of Business and Growth that there have been no delays resulting
from border controls. Furthermore, according to Scandlines the border controls in
Rødby runs smoothly (passengers are experiencing minimal waiting time. i.e. 2-10
minutes) while in Gedser the passengers can sometimes experience a longer
waiting time, i.e. more than 20 minutes, in the event that a ship is fully loaded.
Scandlines is confident that it will be possible to reduce this waiting time through
dialogue and cooperation with the local police.
Furthermore, the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth has informed the
Ministry of Immigration, Integration and Housing that it has not been approached
by any companies, industry associations or other organisations regarding any
problems with delays attributed to the border controls.
