ILO’s

to Greenland
Dear Ms. Corinne Vargha,
I have the honor to announce that the Government of Greenland and the Govern-
ment of Denmark have decided to make all eight ILO core conventions applicable
to Greenland.
In this respect, we are preparing the formal requests to the ILO for extending the
applicability of the five conventions, not yet applicable to Greenland, within the
following timeframe:
2017: Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 (No. 98)
2018: Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 (No. 100)
2019: Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No. 111)
2020: Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No. 138)
2021: Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182)
Therefore, the ILO has already received the formal request regarding the C98,
which were deposited to the ILO on 28 August 2017, and more formal requests are
to follow.
