Meeting on border management measures with Sweden, Denmark and Germany,
6 January 2016
Dear Minister,
Following the introduction of obligatory identity checks on all transport carriers in Sweden in
addition to temporary internal border controls, and the reintroduction of temporary border
controls by Denmark towards Germany as a result of that, I would like to invite you to an
extraordinary and bespoke ministerial meeting with all three countries concerned to discuss
these recent measures.
The objective of the meeting will be to improve coordination among the countries concerned
to ensure a better shared management of the migration pressure in general.
This meeting, to be held at ministerial level, will take place between 10.00 and 12.00 on
Wednesday 6 January 2016 in Brussels. The format will be 1 + 3.
The meeting will take place in the Berlaymont building, on the 13
th
floor in Salon 2. For all
