Dear Ambassador,
We would like to draw your attention to the next meeting of the
OECD Global Parliamentary Network,
which will take
place on
Wednesday 12 October 2016
at the
OECD Conference Centre
in Paris. This seminar will be held the day after
the Secretary-General’s annual address to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on 11 October in
Strasbourg. These two events will be held back-to-back to facilitate parliamentary participation in both meetings.
The meeting will offer an opportunity for parliamentarians to exchange views with their peers and OECD experts on a
range of key issues. A dinner will be organised in the evening of 11 October with the participation of the OECD
Secretary-General. The meeting on 12 October will cover the following issues: the
Economic Outlook, Digitalisation
and the Future of Work, Migration, Gender-sensitive policies,
and
Responsible Business Conduct.
A draft
programme is attached.
We would be grateful if you could share this information with parliamentary representatives from your country, as we
would like to attract a high-level of MPs. Staffers are also very welcome to attend.
And, looking further ahead, the
5
th
OECD Parliamentary Days
will take place in
February 2017 (date to be confirmed)
in
Paris.
As always, this will include a meeting of the OECD Global Parliamentary Network, and bilateral meetings with
OECD experts. We will provide you with more information closer to the date.
