Biography
Dr. Ammar AL Khani is a French citizen of Syrian origin, was born in Damascus. He is a PhD. Senior R&D
professional having pluridisciplinary engineering skills. He has earned his PhD. in Chemical Engineering and a
master post graduate diploma, DEA in Automation Engineering in addition to a MSc. in Chemical engineering and
a diploma of automation engineer of the production.
25 years of Academic and professional Experience
Dr. AL Khani is living in Espoo, Finland since February 1994, upon invitation by Helsinki University of
Technology, on a Senior Scientist Researcher position. Prior to that, he was working at the INPT- Institut National
Polytechnique of Toulouse, France as an R&D Researcher since 1985.
Moreover, dr. AL Khani has worked as consultant and designer of intelligent optimisation and control of energy
and power system, to the Finnish State Research Centre VTT. Also, he has designed, for VTT a SixSigma based
guiding Roadmap and a quality Audit and evaluation tool.
Dr. A. AL Khani, is a member of professional associations and a member of the international scientific comity of
European Simulation Comity and a Scientific Referee. He has published many scientific articles in the field of
various processes Automation and Artificial Intelligence techniques in addition to process optimisation,
production management, simulation and energy optimisation. Also, he has submitted several invention
applications.
During his academic and professional career in France and in Finland, he has acquired a polyvalent scientific and
engineering skills and professional experience leading applied research and designing cutting edge technologies of
intelligent automation systems that are ranging from space technologies to the production process and business
strategy.
Dr. AL Khani is active in designing advanced Management Systems with respect to EU quality, safety and
environment standards and regulations.
Since 2012, dr. AL Khani is a consultant and designer of sustainable roadmap policy of re-construction projects of
reviving the socio-economic and industrial life-cycle for the after-war Syria, while presently he is actively
working over a sustainable systems of relief projects that are targeting Syrian refugees in refugee camps, including
designing complex autonomous schooling complexes, renewable energies and wastes management and recycling.
