Outline of Kawasaki Denmark Mission
1. Circumstances
Beginning from the visit of Ambassador of Danish Embassy in Japan at “Echo-Tech
Fair 2009”, the first International Exhibition in Kawasaki, Kawasaki City and
Danish Embassy has been promoting on industrial and Economic relations. We have
been jointly hosting Seminars on Environment, Welfare, and arranging business
matching between Kawasaki and Danish enterprises. Danish Minister of
Environment visited Kawasaki and we showed Eco-Town in coast area of Kawasaki.
In 2012, Mayor of Kawasaki and Ambassador of Danish Embassy signed the
memorandum on Economic and Industrial exchange on July 4
th
. In order to promote
economic and industrial exchange between Kawasaki and Denmark, we also had
symposium on Environment, Welfare, life-science, 3R, Renewable energy and
Design.
We have been co-hosting Design Seminar and Smart-Grid Seminar and so on with
Danish Embassy.
In August 2013, in order to survey the possibility of economic exchange, we sent
Mission to Denmark, represented by Mayor of Kawasaki.
In November, we will send Mission to Denmark, in order to observe advanced
projects on nursing/welfare, education and so on. And also we would like to
exchange on the subject.
2. Aim
In 1960’s-1970’s, Kawasaki City tackled Public Pollution, through the effort we
have developed Environmental technology. Now, we expand projects, such as
life-innovation program at coastal area, new welfare standard “Kawasaki
Innovation Standard (KIS)”, Accumulation of global company’s R&D facilities.
We will fuse them with Danish Anthropocentrism, power of open-innovation,
social designing power which expands in smart city.
We would like to establish “Kawasaki-Denmark fusion model” in various area.
In order to build the foundation which will lead to the new development of
Japan, we will visit Denmark and survey at this point of view.
