Emne: Invitation to the LutherConference and the award ceremony of the LutherRose 2016
We cordially invite you to our 9th LutherConference (on the ocaission of Luther’s 533rd birthday),
which bears the title Luther, Marx and the consequences. The Reformation and the modern welfare
state and to the subsequent Award ceremony of the LutherRose. Both events take place on 12th
November 2016 in the Prinzen-Palais of the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen.
The theme of the Panel discussion at the LutherConference is Lutheran State Socialism?“ Chances
and Risks of current social politics in Demnmark and Europe. The panel consists of well-known
people from business and politics including the economic journalist of the Frankfurter Allgemeine
Zeitung, Heike Göbel, who is also a member of the IMLS board of trustees, as well as Prof. Dr.
Niels Kærgaard, economic advisor to the Danish government, Prof. Dr. Svend Andersen, professor
for ethics at Aarhus University and Dr. Jakob Funk Kirkegaard of the Peterson Institute for
International Economics in Washington, DC.
In the subsequent award ceremony the LutherRose 2016 for social responsibility and
EntrpreneurialCourage will be presented to the chairman of the Poul Due Jensen Foundation Niels
Due Jensen. The laudation for the awardee will be held by Karsten Dybvad, CEO of Dansk Industri.
The European Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager will give the commemorative
speech.
We have attached a letter of recommendation in Danish from Jens Oddershede, Formand for
Præsidiet for Reformationsjubilæet as well as the programme including registration form and the
Danish press release.
