The Left Party
Studied (in the framework of adult education) at Hamburg University of Economics and
Politics, specialising in organisational sociology and social psychology; then completed a
postgraduate degree in socio-economics, specialising in “feminist” research and the
advancement of women. Before election to the German Bundestag was a self-employed
consultant to works councils and staff councils.

Member of the German Bundestag since 2009; Deputy Chairwoman and spokeswoman on
women's policy for the Left Party parliamentary group in the Bundestag
