Of the Republic of Indonesia
15 July 2015
H.E. MME. PIA KJAERSGAARD
Speaker of the Danish Parliament of Denmark
Excellency,
It is our pleasure to extend an invitation for up to three members of your parliament to attend the Global
Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption’s (GOPAC)
Sixth Global Conference of
Parliamentarians Against Corruption
to be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 6 to 8 October 2015.
The
conference is a joint initiative of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, GOPAC, the
South East Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption (SEAPAC) and GOPAC Indonesia.
We look forward to welcoming a record number of GOPAC members and prospective members from all
over the world, along with representatives from governments, and international organizations as well as
observers committed to combatting corruption. The conference is a premier opportunity for delegates to
participate in thoughtful discussions and workshops aimed at ensuring parliamentarians have the skills to
combat corruption and providing a platform to share challenges and successes.
This is a unique and innovative event with the sole agenda of fighting corruption in each of our countries.
Each Global Conference since our founding has enabled GOPAC to flourish and our network of dedicated
parliamentarians to grow. Our fifth conference, in the Philippines, was our most successful and well-
attended since GOPAC’s inception and set the course for our central priorities, in particular the fight
against Grand Corruption. Previous conferences held in Canada, Tanzania, Kuwait and Mexico have been
integral to advancements in the organization’s agenda and in furthering capacity building and knowledge
of key anti-corruption tools and mechanisms.
The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia is providing the venue, arranging for a
streamlined process for obtaining visas to enter Indonesia, providing transportation within Yogyakarta
and the formal conference meals. Conference participants and their sponsors must cover the cost of
international travel and accommodation in Yogyakarta. Participants must register in advance but there is
no registration fee.
