Delegation from the Czech Parliament
Dear Mr. Chairman,
We have received a letter from the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic
asking for a possibility to have consultations in Denmark.
The members of the Electoral Committee (responsible for mass media) will be very pleased to meet
its Danish partners in Folketing to exchange views about mass media legislation. Meeting’s main
topics might be: legal framework for ensuring public segment broadcasting, tasks and position of
media in society, auditing system of news service balance (especially politic issues), functioning of
regulating and controlling authorities, election method into these agencies, collection of
concessionary fee and the monitoring system.
Therefore,
the Czech Deputies have an idea to have also a meeting at the Ministry of Culture, as
well as with representatives of Danish
Media and Communications Authority or Media Council,
public radio or television and some private televisions.
The most convenient time is mid December (optimal 14 - 16. Dec., because of budget discussion
before).
I would greatly appreciate your opinion on this proposal asap.
I am convinced that the visit would be very useful for both sides.
