Dear colleague,
As you know from your meeting 2 December 2013 with my predecessor Ms.
Olsen Dyhr in Husum we have an increasing concern about the so-called “letter
box companies” within road haulage. As Ms. Olsen Dyhr explained our road
haulage industry is worried that certain letter box companies in Germany are
not real companies, but actually only established in order to obtain advantages
as to wages etc.m
The competent Danish authority, the Danish Transport Authority, has sent a
letter to the Bundesamt für Gueterverkehr on the subject. In the letter they
have put some pertinent questions as to certain companies established in
Northern Germany which are owned by Danish parent companies. Bundesamt
für Gueterverkehr referred them to the local authorities in Schleswig-Holstein.
As a result of this response the Danish Transport Authority 21 November 2013
wrote a letter to your ministry where the same issue was presented. I have
attached the letters.
I am writing to you now because there is a great focus on the matter in
Denmark. A speedy answer from your authorities would be very welcome in
order to clarify the situation.
