Dear Colleagues,Following an announcement made at the Monday Morning Meeting of 14 October 2013 by MrAntoine CAHEN, Head of the Civil Liberties Justice and Home affairs committee secretariat (LIBE), Iam pleased to inform you that this committee would like to invite the Chairs (or their representatives)of the corresponding committees of national Parliaments to discuss the amendments on the Europolproposal which were recently tabled by the rapporteur, Mr DIAZ DE MERA, and other members ofthe committee, in particular the ones dealing with the joint parliamentary scrutiny of Europol'sactivities.The timeslot for discussion will be indicated under the relevant item of the agenda of the meetingscheduled on14 November 2013, from 9 to 12.30in the EP premises, Brussels.For ease of reference, please find below the following link

Please have a look specifically to amendments 626-641 that dealwith the possible "parliamentary scrutiny unit" and the responsibilities/powers it might have.However, the debate could also deal with other parts of the amendments which might be deemedrelevant.It would indeed be of great value and importance to discuss this topic with the national Parliamentsin view of the adoption of the draft report in LIBE committee foreseen at the end ofNovember/beginning of December.All participants from national Parliaments - Members, officials and representatives – will need tocomplete the online registration form in order to attend the event by6 November 2013, noon,Brussels timevia a weblink which will be provided in due course.The meeting will also be open to the Parliaments of the non-EU Schengen countries (Norway,Iceland and Liechtenstein).Interpretation will be provided into all official languages of the EU.Any further information about the meeting (in particular the agenda, and other practicalities, such asaccess badges and venue) will be sent in due course.Should you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me.Kindest regards,
