Dear Ambassador,
OECD Forum is a key, annual multi stakeholder event that is essential for delivering onmulti-stakeholderthe OECD mandate as an inclusive, global policy network to promote better policies forbetter lives. The Forum is an opportunity to engage with and listen to externalstakeholders.
As you know, this year theOECD Forumwill take place on28-29 May 2013alongsidethe OECD Ministerial Council Meeting on29-30 May,chaired by Norway, with Australia,and Estonia as Vice Chairs.
This message requests your assistance to ensure we invite key audiences via yourcontacts, representing the full range of stakeholders: academia, business, trade unions,members of parliament and government officials. Given the specific focus on youthemployment, we especially ask you to ensure that organisations representing youngnt,people are included.Information about the Forum
The 2013 edition of the Forum will be organised around three cross cutting themes:
Promoting inclusive growth(thereby addressing inequalities extensivelydiagnosed in 2011 and 2012, while paying special attention to the plight ofyoung people and the middle classes);
Rebuilding trust(in both public and private sectors, political and economicspheres); and,
Fostering sustainability.stering
The Forum programme will be thematically linked to the MCM agenda and will reflectOECD work on:
New Approaches for Economic Challenges;Action Plan for Youth;Global Value Chains;Trade in Value Added;Knowledge-based Capital; and,Base Erosion Profit Shifting.
The programme will also feature the Skills Strategy, the Development Strategy, theGreen Growth Strategy, and the Gender Initiative. In terms of regional focus beyondOECD, special emphasis will be placed on Asia and Africa.Invitation to participate
As in 2012, PAC is continuing an invitation-only policy for Forum participation in order toensure that we attract an audience that actively engages in the various debates. TheForum will therefore be free of charge, with the number of places limited.
We would like to welcome suggestions for 20-50 participants from amongst yourcontacts who would benefit from attending the Forum and could be counted upon tocontribute to the debates as active members of the audience.
We would kindly request that contact details be submitted directly via EMS by Friday, 5April 2013 so that we can dispatch invitations in a timely manner.
