Greetings to everybody,

First of all I wanted to send my best and warmest greetings to you, the strong and responsiblewomen in this meeting and to thank Mrs. Hansen for giving me this opportunity to send amessage to this meeting. My name is Safora Mohammadi. I am 30 years old and an activist for the Women’s Committee ofNational Council of Resistance of Iran. I have studied law and use to live in Denmark from the ageof 8 to 17 years. So I can also speak a little Danish too.I am active for the women who are under suppression in Iran, women who have been executed, stoned or tortured for false reasons as well as for the resistant women in the Iranian regimesdungeons. I am also active especially for the thousand women, heroens of of the IranianResistance movement who are right now in a camp in Iraq and at risk of been massacred.I wished that I could be with you today and see you in person especially that I have seen yourdetermined and warm faces on your websites and wanted to thank every single one of youbecause of your activities and efforts for all the women in the world. I also would like to have thetime to tell you about the great pain that the people of Iran and especially the women endureand be the voice of thousands of my sisters in Camp Liberty. You might ask where is Camp Liberty and who are the thousand women that which I calledheroes? The reality is that one cannot explain in one page the history of this resistant and on the top of itabout the women in this movement and their leadership because it these women are incredible, strong and brave. Therefore, I could explain more in detail when we meet in person. But what Iwanted to tell you is about our urgent and huge campaign to save the life of these Iranian womenwho are now in Iraq. These are people who fled Iran because they were against the misogynistand fundamentalism dictator in Iran and were at risk of been executed. Right now they are in acamp called “Liberty” and were attacked twice by the Iranian regime which left 9 dead and manywounded. The last missile attack was February 9thwhich occurred when the residents wereasleep. They were hidden by 40 missiles and one women,a mother for two was killed in theattack. As a result of international inaction despite protest of thousands of members of parliaments andpolitical personalities that continue every day (A glimpse of it is in the newsletter that I haveattached). The people responsible for the rocket attack have aggressively and unmercifullyconfessed to another repeat and the Iraqi government in cooperation with the dictatorial regimein Iran has denied taking responsibility on this matter. However we strongly believe that with our33 year experience in our fight for freedom, as a result of our efforts and solidarity and if we paythe price and sacrifice all we can, we can prevent another attack and save the thousand women. One of these women is my mother. These women are the fruit following years of sacrifice andstruggle for freedom, equality and democracy. And are the hope for millions of Iranian especiallywomen.
What’s important and urgent is to provide their safety and security. For succeeding this projectwe have 2 campaigns. The first campaign is for a conference on the 9thof March, simultaneously with internationalwomen’s day in Paris were hundreds of parliamentarians and human right and women rightsactivist and political figures from US, Canada, EU and Arab countries have promised to join. Inorder to reinforce this voice we need the participation of a strong delegation of women fromDenmark. Political figures such as Betancourt, Aude de Taune, Tasha, and Rita Sussmuth willparticipate and speak in this conference. A delegation from parliaments of Palestine, Egypt,Jordan, Tunisian, Morocco and many other Arab countries will also participate. The women’sassociation in Denmark will help the organizing committee to organize the trip and hotelreservation for our guests. We have considered for every one of you to make a short speech forthe Iranian women on the panel and to tell them that they are not alone and that you are behindthem in their desire for freedom. This film will be shown on satellite television broadcasted insideIran and the Iranian women need your every single support.I must apologize that I have delayed to inform you on the gathering on March 9thand I know thatyour agenda is full but every one of you will play an very important and effective role in thegathering. That’s why I have asked you to participate because with your presence in the meeting,we can prevent another massacre and tomorrow might be too late…The other campaign which follows this campaign is to sign the petition which I have sent to youper email and I want you to sign it and send it back to me.I will like to talk to you about how to participate in these campaigns and to schedule it on thephone.

Thank you very much for giving me this time and listening to me.

I hope to see you all soon in Paris

Best Regards Safora
