On behalf of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly it is mypleasure to invite your Delegation to attend the 22ndAnnual Session of the OSCE ParliamentaryAssembly and related events to be held in Istanbul, Turkey from June 29thto July 3rd2013.It is important that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly continues its work discussing the pressingissues that affect all our countries, while providing parliamentary input to the work of the OSCE.The general theme of this year’s Annual Session, “Helsinki+40”,
is extremely relevant andunderlines the Assembly’s support for the OSCE Ministerial Council’s decision in Dublin to launcha set of objectives aimed at strengthening the OSCE from now towards 2015, the 40th anniversaryof theHelsinki Final Act.Our Assembly is committed to supporting the current Chairmanship of Ukraine, and theforthcoming chairmanships of Switzerland and Serbia in their work towards a security community.In this regard, I am confident that our Session in Istanbul will provide the basis for fruitfuldiscussions, which will in turn contribute to the strengthening of the OSCE.Together with our Turkish hosts the leadership of the OSCE PA looks forward to welcoming yourDelegation in Istanbul.
